Saturday Ocbober 16, 2010 I went on a ship inspection and luncheon of the MSC Poesia. I thought that the colors of the ship were soft on the eyes. I really liked the show lounge and the pool area. The ship has a tennis court and minerature golf. The buffet for breakast and lunch was very nice. While I was on the ship they were serving lunch and it was nicely done. They have a salad bar station which had lots to choose from. Being on the ship reminded me to a certain degree of being on some Celebrity ships. Considering that the former CEO for Celebrity is now running MSC that does not surprise me. The ship is definitely one for the mature crowd. Someone looking for lots of activities is better off on one of the new RCCL ships. Having said that, someone looking for a great cruise vacation in a lovely environment would be very happy on this ship.
The ship is definitely of a European theme in the sense that many signs and notices on the ship are in 6 languages, French, German, Italian, English, Spanish and Portugese. I happen to like the European flavor. The officers are Italian with an international crew. For someone looking for that European flavor, this ship is certainly for you.
